Mnemosina Museum in Prunelli di Fiumorbo

Mnemosina Museum in Prunelli di Fiumorbo: Prunelli di Fiumorbo is a small town filled with history that has undergone several upheavals during the period of war. Apart from the vestiges of the past that the city has gathered for years, a number of loyal and passionate people have contributed to the creation of a safe and protected place in order to preserve and expose the cultural riches of the city.

It is the case of Doctor Timo Pieri, supported by his sisters Daria and Niny, who together built the famous Mnemosina Museum, which is now known to everyone, abounding all object and historical document revolving around several themes namely l Archeology, folk customs as well as cultural arts.

A site located near the postal agency of the city center of Prunelli, the founders of the Museum have made it available to the municipality so that holidaymakers and locals can access it while contributing to the development of tourism within the city.

This historic site is ready to welcome visitors every Saturday morning or by reservation (exceptional request) so as to discover the events that have marked Fium'Orbu through time. There are nine exhibiting rooms at the Museum, each of which tells a story about the various events that Prunelli di Fiumorbo experienced.

As an example, here is how the Mnemosina Museum is divided: the Fucone was an essential part where the Greeks used to smoke the cold meats with the chestnuts. The walls and the ceiling were, at the time, black with smoke, but today they have been renovated by the Pieri family.

Another room is dedicated to crafts where most of the tools used by the Corsican ancestors during the golden age of the wood are exhibited ... A rare exhibition that is only discovered in Prunelli di Fiumorbo. There are also halls for the sharing of experiences reflecting the camps of the prisoners at the first stage in Corsica, the dramatic history of the Fiomorbu and the room of the Museum of the Post.
