Activities and tourism in Corsica

North Corsica is known for the Balagne but also the Agriates desert, the Cap Corsica and the villages of Calvi, Lumio, Saint Florent and its main city Bastia. South Corsica has a strong reputation due to its beaches, Rondinara, Palombaggia, Piantarella, Rocapina to name a few. It is also known through the city of Ajaccio and its beautiful villages such as Porto Vecchio, Bonifacio, Propriano, Figari or Sartene. Corsica is quite a big island but if you intend to spend two weeks there, you can discover both the south and north parts. If Corsica is famous for its beaches and secluded bays, it is also known for its mountains. The Monte Cinto is 2700 metres high and you can even ski there during the winter season. The GR20 is worldwide known for people who like hiking, offering breath taking views to the mountains and to the sea. The sailors will find in Corsica crystal waters but also a perfect breeze to practise kitesurfing or windsurfing, especially in the Figari and Santa Manza bays. The experimented windsurfers will choose Algajola, a little fisherman village, located close to Ile Rouse on the North west coast of Corsica. A certain number of events happen every year in Corsica.
