House of Napoleon Bonaparte in Ajaccio

Housed in the town of Ajaccio, the "Maison Bonaparte" Museum is an unusual place formerly used as an animated space of the famous lieutenant Napoleon Bonaparte until he was exiled in June 1793 with his whole family. Today, the building opens its doors wide to welcome all visitors eager to know the habits as well as the daily routines of this famous personality. Let's see why he was like that!

In order to briefly describe the history of Napoleon Bonaparte, Napoleon I was once part of a family of the Corsican nobility of Italian origin. In recounting his course, at the age of 16, he was declared second lieutenant of artillery in the regiment of La Fere. Then, following his relentlessness alongside Pascal Paoli, he graduated as a lieutenant colonel of the National Guard of the city of Ajaccio. The reason for his exile was no less interesting, except that his disagreement with the nationalist Paoli was what caused him to be expelled in 1793 with his whole family and then emigrated to France.

Today, the house where Napoleon 1st grew up on Saint Charles streets has become one of the most popular tourist sites in Ajaccio. On the entrance to the Museum you will find the date of birth of Bonaparte (August 15, 1769). Inside you will discover beautiful family portraits, period furniture and several souvenir items. The visit is in 30 minutes not forgetting that the entrance of the Museum costs about 7 euros in summer and 6 euros in winter.

Belonging to the Bonaparte family since 1682, the house attracts every year several tourists from all over the world. During your visit, immortalize every detail and manuscript revealing the whole history of the descendants of Charles and Letizia Bonaparte! At the top of the floor there is a large bed in an Empire style, which received Napoleon on his return from Egypt.
