Village of Zilia
Village of Zilia in Corsica: somewhere in the south-east of Corsica there is Zilia, the small French municipality with baroque and typical contrasts with its houses in uniform colors adorned with traps of character. Even though it is miniature with only 14.01 km2, the latter does not lack of charm and conquered more than one heart with its beautiful landscape that photographers love so much to immortalize!
It is a wonderful village populated by olive trees. The scents of the fruits will make you transport in an unbelievable and delicious universe that makes you want to stay there as long as possible! Zilia is mainly known as being the town of bottling mineral water "Zilia", intended to alleviate digestive problems. In addition, the Zilians pay special attention to the cults and they meet each year at the patronal festival of 16 August. During this period, they celebrate the procession and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary at the parish church of Saint-Roch while touring the village.
Zilia is well named after the "granite Corsica" thanks to the important existence of the granite rocks that form its relief. It is on its territory that are built old houses with picturesque attractions and which integrate harmoniously with the verdant setting of the village. 240 inhabitants live the city with a rate of 17 hab / km2. Zilia is therefore an ideal and very calm setting for a quiet and serene holiday in the middle of a lush and protected nature.
